Welcome to Deep-Sky!
This site aims to provide you with information about two of my biggest hobbies: astrophotography and astrophysics. For those of you who share one or both of these areas of interest I hope it will provide usefull information and stimulate discussion. For others I hope it will stimulate curiosity in this field.
Deep-Sky contains a description of the equipment I use, images I have made and also a tutorial describing how I take images and how I process them. Hopefully you'll learn something from it or maybe you can help me to improve the way I taken and process my images.
The astrophysics part contains short descriptions of astrophysical topics and usefull links. It also contains interesting articles and books suggested for reading. The Astronews sections contains links to recent articles which I found interesting, stunning or just informative.
The Links section contains links to other amateur astronomers and to usefull sites in this field. The Contact section can be used to send me remarks or questions.
Kind regards,
Erwin van den Heuvel

After collimating my scope properly I tried to make an image of Saturn which worked out fine. See Photogallery for more images.
I made this quick image of M63 at April 23. It's just a composition of three 10 minute exposures. I will image m63, being a favorite object, soon again with more images and by adding color. See Photogallery for more images.

The tutorial section has been added. It contains a step by step description of the processing I did with this image.
