Moon

Image details

The images was taken at 6 March 2009. Visibility was average/good. I took about 120 images at F30 using a 3x Barlow and my LPI camera. The scope had been collimated about 3 months ago which made a tremendous difference. Of course it would have been even better to recollimate the scope on the night itself. These 120 images were processed using Registax 5, beta version. Finally I scanned a piece of my 1:5.000.000 Hallwag moon map to make a comparison between the map and my image. The image shows Sinus Iridum and the Jura mountains. The shadow of Cap Laplace is beautifully visible in the image.
